Victory for Water Affordability!

Michigan Legal Services filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of residents of Highland Park. We reached a successful settlement resulting in the provision of income-based water affordability plans for all residents!

Detroit Court Halts Evictions!

Michigan Legal Services is proud to stand in solidarity with a broad community coalition to halt evictions during the coronavirus crisis.

We were able to negotiate a settlement that discharged the mortgage completely and now Ms. Bell can enjoy her golden years without worry.

Ms. James applied for a loan modification after her work hours were reduced. She received a trial payment plan with payments that were higher than the mortgage she required assistance with. .

Ms. Jones requested a loan modification from her servicer because the mortgage payments had become unaffordable. She was eventually granted a trial modification, and made all of her trial payments.
